Easement Mapping
Panda Consulting has also contracted with several agencies to transform their recorded easement documents into mapped entities. This mapping is performed under the supervision of a registered surveyor and accurately reflects the location and information about the easement for efficient management by our clients.
Methodology
As part of the contracts, Panda's people input the information stored on the deed and a scanned image of the deed into a database for use by the GIS. This information is then used by the actual mapper during the conversion process. The mapper reviews the deed and finds all required information to allow accurate mapping of the boundaries, polygon location and extent of every easement cited in the document. This information may include original survey plats, referenced deeds, subdivisions and county parcel data.
Quality Control
After these easements are created, all GIS elements are then topolgically tested to ensure accuracy and spatial integrity in the delivered database. A database join is created to ensure the attribute data correctly matches the GIS data and a delivery report is created. This report includes such information as: a list of deeds that are mapped, problems encountered during the mapping and possible issues that the agency should clarify.
