My Top Five Tips for Identifying and Adjusting Parcels in the Parcel Fabric

Identifying parcels that need adjustment and determining how best to correct them are essential skills for maintaining accurate cadastral data. This workshop presents five practical tips for recognizing parcel boundary discrepancies, evaluating survey evidence, and making informed adjustments within the ArcGIS Parcel Fabric. Through real-world examples, participants will explore techniques for identifying potential problems using parcel measurements, topology, survey control, and consistency checks, along with strategies for correcting parcel geometry while preserving boundary relationships and minimizing unintended changes to surrounding parcels. Emphasis will be placed on understanding when adjustments are appropriate, selecting the right tools, and applying sound cadastral judgment to produce accurate, consistent, and defensible parcel data.
