This workshop focused on analyzing the transition from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro, helping GIS professionals understand not just what had changed, but also why and how it affected their daily workflows. We framed ArcGIS Pro as a fundamentally different application—project-based, multi-threaded, and integrated with modern data management—rather than a one-to-one replacement for ArcMap. By grounding the discussion in familiar ArcMap tasks, participants saw how long-standing habits translated (or didn’t) in Pro, and where new concepts such as projects, tasks, ribbon-based tools, and 64-bit processing altered the way work got done.
