This workshop introduced the practical process of bringing survey control into the ArcGIS Pro Parcel Fabric and making it work—not just as reference data, but as the backbone of spatial accuracy. Control points were more than coordinates; they represented the physical realization of boundary location. When properly integrated, they anchored the parcel fabric to the real world, ensuring that edits, adjustments, and downstream data products maintained both precision and credibility.
Participants learned how to import control points from a variety of sources, including survey records, GPS observations, and legacy datasets, and how to evaluate their quality before integration. The workshop then moved beyond simple import workflows to focus on adjustment techniques within the parcel fabric, demonstrating how control influenced parcel geometry and how least-squares adjustment principles were applied in a GIS environment. Emphasis was placed on understanding the relationships among control, measurements, and parcel features—so that adjustments were not treated as black-box processes but as transparent, defensible operations.
